Operating Constitution

Articles of Incorporation.

The full affiliate disclosure and editorial policy that governs how we link, how we earn, and the firewall between commission rate and ranking position. Posted to the record.

FILED · CEOCULT · 2026

Article I, In one sentence

CeoCult is reader-supported. We may earn a commission when you click an affiliate link to a business tool, bank, or platform we cover. Commission rates never alter ranking or recommendation. Rankings and instrument outputs come from our hands-on test methodology and IRS-aligned formulas. Period.

Article II, How commission works

When a reader clicks an affiliate link on CeoCult and signs up for a covered service (Novo, Bluevine, Mercury, Relay, accounting software, tax-filing services, retirement-platform), the partner pays us a percentage at no extra cost to the reader. The reader's price is identical whether they reach the service through us, through Google search, or by typing the URL directly.

Commission rates vary by partner. A higher commission rate has never, and will never, result in a higher ranking position. We frequently recommend free or commission-free tools (the IRS Direct Pay portal, free Schedule C software, the free tier of major banking apps) above commission-paying ones when they win on the rubric.

Article III, The editorial firewall

The team that scores instruments and writes dispatches does not see commission rates when scoring. Commission rates are introduced at publication time only, they appear in the affiliate-tag, never in the editorial draft.

Why we keep losing entries published Every recommendation review on CeoCult names what failed, including why (predatory pricing, hidden fees, weak refund policy, dishonest claim language). We never bury the losing entries, even when the losing platform is a commission-paying affiliate. The losing entries are the proof we ran the procedure honestly.

Article IV, Display advertising (Ezoic)

CeoCult runs display advertising via Ezoic on guide pages (dispatches and topic hubs). Ads are never placed on calculator tool pages, where browser-side privacy is the binding rule. Ads do not appear inside instrument calculation flow, between instrument inputs and outputs, or inside any UI element that handles user-entered tax data.

Ezoic uses standard third-party advertising cookies. Reader can opt out via the consent dialog or via standard browser controls. The privacy policy covers ad-related data flow in full.

Article V, FTC compliance

CeoCult complies with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising. Every page on the site discloses the existence of affiliate relationships in the footer fine print. Affiliate links are tagged in the URL string (typical patterns include ?aff=, ?ref=, ?utm_source=ceocult) so that a curious reader can identify them.

Article VI, Data we collect

Calculator pages collect zero data. All computation runs in your browser. No analytics on calculator pages. No server-side endpoint for tool input. Dispatches and hub pages collect standard web analytics (page views, referrer, anonymous device class) to improve the site. We do not sell reader data. Newsletter subscribers can unsubscribe in one click; the unsubscribe is honored within 24 hours.

Article VII, Affiliate partners

As of the current publication date, CeoCult maintains affiliate relationships with: Novo, Bluevine, Mercury, Relay (banking), QuickBooks Self-Employed, FreshBooks, Wave (accounting), Keeper Tax, Bonsai, Hellobonsai (freelance ops), and Gusto, OnPay (payroll for S-Corp election). This list is updated when relationships change.

Article VIII, What we are not

CeoCult is not a CPA firm. Instruments and dispatches are educational and do not substitute for personalized professional advice on complex situations. We name the thresholds where pro advice is genuinely needed, multi-state filings, $1M+ revenue, partnership/LLC structuring, audit defense, and recommend you stop reading and call a licensed practitioner.

Article IX, Contact & corrections

For corrections, methodology questions, or to report a broken instrument, write to [email protected]. We log every correction request and update the affected dispatch or instrument within 7 days of verification.

"Commission rates never alter ranking. The procedure is the only thing that decides position."
